Are we required to submit any documents prior to flying to Maldives?

Yes, Guest travelling to South Palm Resort Maldives are required to submit an ONLINE SELF-DECLARATIVE  via within 96 hours to Arrive or departure, TO and FROM Maldives.

How do I get from Male International Airport to the resort?

The transfer arrangement is made via Domestic flights to Gan International Airport and Speedboat transfer between GAN airport and South Palm Resort Maldives.

Do I have to book my own transfers from Male International Airport (Velana International Airport) to the resort?

We will take care of all domestic transfer arrangements for you. You don’t need to book these yourself. 

Are transfers included in booking?

Domestic transfer charges are not included in the room rate and this service is additionally charged.

 What are the fares and what do they include?

 Return Domestic flight transfer charges:

How do I get to the resort if I fly straight to Gan International Airport? And what are the charges?

The transfer from Gan Airport to the resort is a 15-minute Speedboat ride

Infants (Under 2):             FREE

Is there a lounge access at Male Airport?

Lounge Acess is available optionally by Maldivian Airline with an Extra Charge

How do I get my equator Crossing Certificate?

At the time of crossing the equator, the flight attendant will hand over your equator crossing certificate on your trip to GAN International Airport.

If not, you may request one at the Reception and then our reception staff will coordinate with Flight operator to provide one.

What is the time schedule for domestic transfers?

Domestic flights are scheduled by the domestic airline, Maldivian. The flights are scheduled based on the movement of arrival and departure of guests. We will try our best to provide the closest Connection.

What is the luggage allowance for domestic transfers?

The luggage allowance is:


Check-in baggage: 20 kg per person

Hand carry: 5 kg per person (Hand carry Bags sizes are varies and please keep in mind that Domestic flight cabin is smaller than the International flights)

Child below 2 years are not entitled for a luggage allowance

Is there a charge for overweight baggage?

The charge range is between USD 3 and USD 5 per kg.

Does my room reservation require any booking guarantee?

All room reservations require an advance payment to guarantee the Booking.

What are the taxes and additional charges?

In addition to the room rate, these are the additional charges:

How many adults can stay in one villa?

Family Villas: Maximum Occupancy – 6 Persons

All Other Villa Categories: Maximum Occupancy – 3 Adults can stay in one room or 2 adults with 2 child (child below 12 years) with one extra bed.

Do you have age restrictions for your Overwater Villas?

We do not have any age restriction for any of our room categories.

Are king-sized beds available in your villas?

All rooms consist of 1 king sized bed.

Do your rooms have Wi-Fi? Is there a limit to the usage?

WiFi is available in the whole property free of charge, and there are no limitations to it.

Are safe deposit boxes available in the rooms?

All rooms have a safe.

Do you have smoking rooms?

All our villas are non-smoking. Smokers can enjoy the outdoor veranda of all rooms at their leisure.

Is alcohol available on the property?

Yes. Alcoholic beverages are served at all 3 outlets and available in the minibar

How many restaurants do you have? Can we have our entitled meals in all outlets?

There are 3 food outlets on the property, the main buffet restaurant and 2 A la carte outlets. All entitled meals in the meal plans are served at the main buffet restaurant. The A la carte restaurants can be enjoyed by all guests, at an extra charge.

Are bikinis allowed on the resort?

Bikinis are allowed on the whole island.

Do you have a pet policy?

Unfortunately, pets are not allowed at our property.

Is vegetarian/vegan/jain cuisine available in the restaurants?

All our outlets including the main restaurant’s buffet offers a vast selection of cuisines including vegetarian, vegan, and Jain food as well.

What time is room service from?

In-Villa Dining is available 24 hrs.

What facilities do you have for children?

Our property is the proud host of the unique family village. Which consists of a Kid’s Park, various activities, our exceptional Family Villas which are all designed to cater to families traveling with children

Is baby-sitting service available?

Baby sittings service is available from 10 AM to 10 PM.

Are baby cots available?

Baby cots are available free of charge upon request.

Are high chairs available your restaurants?

High chairs will be provided to toddlers in all of our outlets.

Do you have medical services available?

Our on-site clinic has medical professionals available 24 hrs.

Is there somewhere I can buy souvenirs or basic necessities?

We have a Jewelry Shop, Brand Shop, and Souvenir Shop where basic necessities are also available.

Can I book excursions at the resort?

Our guest relations team can help you organize a wide variety of excursions ranging from half-day to full-day trips, island tours, snorkeling trips and fishing trips.

Is there somewhere I can learn to scuba dive?

Southern Maldives Divers, which is based out of our resort, is a PADI certified 5-star dive center which conducts a wide array of underwater activities, including discover scuba diving for beginners.

Do you have laundry services?

Laundry services are available, with washing, ironing and dry cleaning services.

Do you have a Dress code on the Island or in the restaurant?

South Palm Resort does not have a specific dress cod in the Resort. However, to Dine in Main Restaurant, you are required to cover up at least a t-shirt and Short to create a comfortable and respectful dining atmosphere for all our guests.

What are the procedures in place in case of the need for quarantine?

Quarantine helps to prevent spread of disease that can occur before a person becomes symptomatic or spread of disease from a person who remains asymptomatic

Guests and staffs will be quarantined at the resort in a designated area


Quarantined individuals must follow infection prevention and control measures


Housekeeping will clean the room once a day, and practice extra precaution at all times.
